WHAT WE DID
The California Science Center asked Storyland Studios to create a 3-story-tall replica of the life-size King Tut statue on display with the exhibit.
King Tutankhamun’s tomb is one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time—and his treasures and artifacts remain one of the most famous exhibits ever to tour the world. When the California Science Center brought its latest exhibition, King Tut: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, to Los Angeles, they wanted to celebrate this momentous event in a unique and memorable way.

WHAT WE DID
The California Science Center asked Storyland Studios to create a 3-story-tall replica of the life-size King Tut statue on display with the exhibit.
HOW WE DID IT
Working from actual photos of the ancient statue, along with dimensions and 3D scans, we sculpted what is likely the world’s largest version of the famous figure. Our sculpture is a scale replica, 500% bigger than the original on display at the exhibit.
CONCLUSION
The replica made its public debut in the heart of Los Angeles, as part of Metropolitan Fashion Week. Over half a million guests came to see the collection in the first nine months, and King Tut: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh became one of the most well-attended exhibitions in the California Science Center’s history.
